We are an all female, non auditioning choir based at South Normanton, Derbyshire.

We love the friendship of singing together and invite anyone over the age of 16 to    come and sing and give us a try.

Sonara Singers consists of over 30 ladies, with great community spirit and a love of singing. 2023 has taken us from strength to strength with our Musical Director - Nicola Hunt a passionate and professional musician with 20 years experience. Nicki’s aim with Sonara Singers is to provide inspiring and well balanced rehearsals to achieve an excellent and rewarding outcome for each singer and for the choir as a whole.

We are enjoying new challenges as Nicki embraces and expands the Sonara repertoire with energy and enthusiasm.

 

We have hosted the National Association of Choirs annual concert, performing with four other choirs from the East Midlands. We have helped to raise more than £1,000 for the food bank charity Hope for Belper with our friends from Rockabillies. We have enjoyed our annual performance at Ripley Musical Festival and have taken part in our our "Come and Sing" where we shared our learning experience with those looking for an enjoyable Saturday afternoon. This will be followed in December by our Christmas Concert, which includes a performance with Matlock Brass Band at St Peters Church in Swanwick, the Hearing Help Christmas Lunch and a performance for the residents and staff at the Ada Belfield Care Home.
